Smoky Mountains Fly Fishing School
With over 30 years of experience in the great sport of fly fishing, there is nothing we enjoy more than introducing beginners to this great sport.  Our Fly Fishing Educational courses are second-to-none and can be enjoyed by all. Over the past 15 years we have developed an easy to understand method of teaching the basic fundamentals of fly fishing. Our lessons, schools, and clinics are designed to be fun and exciting; offering you education, adventure, and an outdoor sport that leads you into the most beautiful places in the world. Fly fishing has stood the test of time by being an outdoor activity anyone can enjoy for a life time.

Smoky Mountains Fly Fishing School courses include:   stream safety, basic entomology (including different methods of distinguishing which insects are active and how to match these insects with flies), basic and intermediate casting instruction, and trout fishing lessons- because casting is only half of the sport.  We go into depth on a trouts habitat and habits and fishing tactics used to "fool" them. (You'll learn to think like a trout)  Multi-day students leave our school fully prepared to fly fish successfully on their own.

Smoky Mountains Fly Fishing School offers you a unique instructional program designed to take the aggravation out of learning the complicated sport of fly fishing. Fly fishing is a fun and relaxing sport that takes place in the most beautiful surroundings in the world, however, learning this time tested sport presents factors that can be overwhelming. Our 2-day schools will take the mystery out of fly fishing for trout and are designed to be fun and exciting. We’ll familiarize you with all aspects of our sport in a relaxed atmosphere along with several streamside workshops. Classes are kept small to ensure you get personalized attention. As a student, you will leave our hands-on schools being self sufficient and prepared to safely find and catch trout on fly fishing equipment on your own. Our schools are designed to familiarize beginners with all aspects needed to become a successful angler. The knowledge and skills that you learn in 2 days would take years to acquire on your own. Our objective is to make you an independent angler.
