1/2 day......A taste of fly fishing. We believe this is the best way to sample the exciting sport of fly fishing and the easiest way to hook a friend or family member. Our 1/2 day course skips a few time consuming steps and goes directly to basic fly casting instructions and then straight into a stream stocked with trout! This trip truly offers a taste of fly fishing and an unforgettable Smoky Mountain experience for any angler.
Full day fly fishing instruction...includes basic entomology related to our trout streams, basic fly casting instructions, knots, and rigging instructions; all taught streamside with several hours of guided fishing time.
Multi-day Smoky Mountains fly fishing school...Learn in 2 days what could take years to discover on your own. Courses include stream safety, basic entomology (including different methods of distinguishing which insects are active and how to match these insects with flies), basic and intermediate fly casting instruction, and trout fishing lessons; because casting is only half of the sport. We go into depth on a trouts habitat and habits along with fishing tactics used to "fool" them. (You'll learn to think like a trout) Multi-day students leave fully prepared to fly fish successfully on their own.
